The first five minutes set the tone for the day. This ritual asks only that you meet the morning before the world reaches you.

The Ritual

    Open a window

    Before anything else, let real light and air in. Stand in it for a moment.

  2. 2

    Three slow breaths

    In through the nose, out slowly. Let the shoulders drop on each exhale.

  3. 3

    A warm drink, sitting down

    Coffee or water, but taken sitting — not on the move. Notice it.

  4. 4

    One intention

    Name one thing you want the day to feel like. Just one.
