Where to Stay in Santorini
white walls, blue sea
Caldera views, cave hotels, and quiet villages beyond the crowds — where to stay on Greece's most photographed island, and how to do it slowly.

Santorini is famous for a reason, and also famous for being busy. The trick is choosing your village well and giving yourself time — sunsets that are not in Oia, mornings before the cruise ships, and a pace that lets the island breathe.
Where to base yourself
Oia is the postcard and the crush. Imerovigli has the same caldera views with a fraction of the crowd. Firostefani is walkable and warm. For quiet and wine country, look to the island's eastern villages.
